Onchiota in Navy
In 1901, Elizabeth Newcomb founded Stony Wold Sanatorium on 1,800 acres of a hillside overlooking Lake Kushaqua in Onchota, north of Saranac Lake. Her mission was to create a charitable center for the treatment of underprivileged young women suffering from tuberculosis. Receiving support from prominent seasonal Adirondackers including the DuPonts, the Morgans, and the Rockefellers, as well as from corporate sponsors like AT&T, Elizabeth’s sanatorium eventually consisted of twenty buildings and a farm. At any time 150 young women and children could be found on the property being tended to by a staff of 70. Over the years, six thousand patients were treated in the small Adirondack community that is Onchiota.

- Received within 30 days from delivery date
- Unworn, unaltered (including scents, and unwashed condition
- All original tags attached
- Items with dust bags must be returned in bags
- Original receipt or packing slip required
